I'll do it for $50.  It'll be my first!   :chuckle:

where do you all get the bucks scored and how much does it cost. I am really excited to see what its actual score is :IBCOOL:
You can have it done at the sportmans show in TriCities or Puyallup at the end of January, last year they charged me which was odd, or you can go to NW Big Game and click on find a measurer, I think this is the link to Washington measurers, http://www.nwbiggame.com/measurers.cfm
Give one of them a call and they should be able to get back to you with a time that they can do it. I believe they do it for free so there is no conflict in interest, pay more get a better score type of thing.

Pain is temporary, achieving the goal is worth it.

I didn't say it would be easy, I said it would be worth it.

Nice buck! You should just score him yourself. its not that hard at all. Heres a link, they make it super easy. all you really need is a fabric/cloth tape measure.

BTW...

<------------I scored this guy myself using the boone and crocket web site, then he was professionally scored at the big horn show in Spokane. the score I came up with and the professional score were within 1 4/8 inches of each other.

Thanks I am pretty happy with it now I am debating taking it to a beetle guy for a European mount and paying since I heard they do it best, and the skulls come out whitest, in comparison to the boilling method. I just don't want to do it myself and mess up my first ever buck and mount (by bleaching out the dark colored horns or mangling the actual skull.) What would you guys do?

My buddy shot a smaller buck and its not as important to him as mine is to me. So I might try and mount his on my own and see how it turns out before attempting mine. What would you guys do giving my situation having it be my first ever buck and first bow kill?

 :dunno:

I think I would pay to have mine done and try it myself on my buddies.

Cool yah I am excited I am going to pay for it to get European mounted by a professional with his beetles. After talking with all of you guys and my dad I think it will be worth my money to have a pro do it so I don't mess anything like the nasal cavity up. Does anyone have any suggestions on taxidermists around the Seattle area that use beetles and put out quality work. I figured since I put so much time money and effort into bagging this buck, why take the cheap route on finalizing the European mount, since this will be a memory I'll carry with me my whole life! :IBCOOL:

Bugs and Bones Taxidermy, they are a site sponsor, just look in the taxidermy section and do a search, they will come up.  They should have a banner at the top of the page.
