My buddy just saw one two days ago while he was elk hunting.  He was behind a gate and the cougar was walking down a logging road across the canyon from him about 350 yards away.  This was around the Naselle area in SW Washington.  There have been more and more sightings around here in the last couple years.

It sounds like it's time to get a new gun.

I had one following me out of head high reprod down in Grays Harbor County in the pitch black... I knew something was following me...I saw him with my truck headlights when I turned them on...it was way to dark to shoot and my bow was unloaded.

I was also mid day scouting 2nd week on Elk bow season down in Skookumchuck and two hunters came running by me bows in hand and arrows already knocked. I asked if they were chasing elk and still on the run they said a cougar had followed almost to where I was standing 10 minutes before.

i never saw the cat...and didnt have my bow nor did I know the guys or I might have aided the hunt. I left almost right away so who knows..they may have got him??

The guy that helped me blood trail my elk killed a cougar on the power line off of Thompson Creek last year down pretty close to the plant!

Thats the 3 cats Ive seen/heard of.

Hoping to see one more up close

thats what I know about cats

Yes they were running but toward the woods not away... I guess they didn't have bow when they were followed by him and they went to the truck...got bows and went back. I guess!!?? It was mid day so they were probably doing some unarmed non-sneaky scouting... like I was!
