Used All My Cabelas Points
« on: December 21, 2015, 04:47:38 PM »
Decided to burn my accumulated Cabelas points before year's end.  Found a nice Cabelas Limited Edition Model 70 Lightweight Super Grade in 7x57 online two months ago in Cabelas gun library in Georgia.  I proceeded to put it on layaway when it arrived in Lacey.  I decided to break it out of confinement today.  My cost out of pocket after points....less than $100.   Too bad Winchester didn't have their usual sales tax rebate going during the holiday season, as I would have actually got it for free.

At least with a firearm, I feel my points continue to hold their value, even if in the safe.

Sweet rifle. So nice that I don't think I could leave it in the safe. I'd have to take it out and kill something with it.   :chuckle:

I was going to ask if I could use my points on a firearm. Now I know.

Nice find.

Great rifle and a classy chambering. I'm very fond of the 7x57.

Last buck I shot with my 7x57 before I tucked it away.

Definitely nice wood. I bought one like it last year but in 257 Roberts. Great shooting rifle, not killed anything with it yet. Dropped it this year while hunting but it landed on the scope and bent it. Rifle is unhurt, whew.

the store in lacey had a few super grades with absolutely gorgeous wood a while back.  would've bought one if i could justify it, but would change out the ugly cabelas logo floor plate for a stock one.
you can still get gas in heaven, and a drink in kingdom come,
in the meantime, i'll be cleaning my gun

Those fnh made model 70s great. Another selling point of the new 70 action is that the 7x57 is camberbed on a short action.I have a featherweight in 7x57 and a supergrade in .308. You will not be disappointed with that purchase.
