XDs 4.0 IWB Sheath design
« on: December 22, 2015, 05:50:03 PM »
So, I picked up my new Xds .45 yesterday, shot it today and now it needs some new cloths.  Here is a design I penciled out tonight.  Thoughts?

Not sure, what I'm going to use yet for belt attachment.  Are the snapping loops easy in their operation, taking on and off?  All the IWB's I've used always had just a single belt clip.

I really like the snapping belt loops, the holster is definitely locked in, I have a cheaper leather IWB holster can't remember who made it but sometimes when I draw the holster tries to follow the gun....

Did it come with the OEM holster ? Those are nice, plus mine came with the mag holders too.

Nope no OEM holster, but being a leather worker, thought I'd try making a nice leather one.  Can't be much different than making knife sheaths

The gun is a nice shooter.  I've only put about 50 rounds through it so far, but had no problem hitting pop cans at 15 yards.

Ya, but I'd have to buy it, I can make one for pretty much nothing but a little scrap leather and some time.  :)

Well, Merry Christmas all.  I have been working today on a prototype holster for my pre-Christmas gift.  So far this is where I'm at.

This one is just a proto-type.  The leather is about 40 years old and not the best.  Once I get it right, I may make more for an affordable price.  The real ones might even have a little tooling on them, we'll see.
