I am an amature coyote hunter with no luck at at all, yet. I purchesed a Phantom Hunter E-caller a few years ago, and have no success.

How do i use it it?
Push the buttons and let the call run through the cycle, let it do it's thing for a few seconds and turn it off, then turn it in on and repeat. The call has several different sounds, Howl, pups, jack rabbit distress, cottontail air, bird, feline, pig, crows gathering, rodent sqeeles, and some ground sound affects.
What is the best way to to start/wich do i start with.

How long di i call?
Call for a few minutes or a few seconds? Howl first or as a last result or to just locate. I have a few different distress calls and only one howler (Primos) I do not feel the sound if realistic, a bit high pitched (my opion).

I have seen a few videos and listened to a few CD's but have not found a good instructional learning tool.
Any advise for a amature would be greatly appreciated.

I'd reccomened getting a dvd from your sporting goods store. I've watched alot and I think the best I've seen is by Primos called Mastering the Art. It has Randy Anderson teaching how to hold the calls, make the sounds, and a few tricks. Overall, once you know how to properly make the sounds there is no perfect script. Every yote is different and can react different on a daily basis. Just play it out in your head as if you were a real coyote. That's what your trying to mimmick. A coyote that comes into an area, Finds some food, (rabbit,mouse,bird,ect.) and kills and eats it. Any coyotes in the area are thinking, 1.that could be my new freind, 2. that could be my new mate, 3. that #### is eating my food. I'm sure there are some better awnsers but be patient learning this and it'll pay off in the long run. Good luck

I've been calling for a while, all hand calls. i would highly recommend, Randy Andersons, calling all coyotes. the film is grainy as its amaturist, but its real world, and will help ya alot.
i use a Circe Call (long/med range ) jackrabbit distress and also a carlton #10 open reed.

1) Camo, cammo, cammmo, i'm talking head, face and hands.
2) shooting stix

start off by sneaking into an area, know the wind before you arrive, it will help you set up. for example, you are looking out into an area you like, it doesn't make sense to set up if the wind is blowing out to your quarry.

once there, just sit for abit, catch your breath and just watch, there may already be a yote there, ya just gotta see him.

i start of a little low to medium in volume, sounding like a just snared panicked rabbit, for maybe 20 seconds, and i wait for atleast 3 minutes before i repeat it again, then another 3-4 min wait.
i do this because if a yote is already close, he will likely be ontop of me in as little as 30 seconds.

once i'm satisfied, nothing is atleast close, and have carefully scanned out infront of me to be sure one isn't just sitting in plain site sitting there watching me, i start out loud and aggressive, not only am i a snarred rabbit, but i'm being raped and burned alive too, i mean we are talking about a pretty distressed rabbit. i will do this as long as i can, it takes alot outa me, so maybe only 45 seconds. i wait, scan, watch, and keep repeating every 2-3 minutes for a half hour, if nothing, i leave and start all over somewhere else.

you could be shooting at a yote as early as 45 seconds after you start, as they sometimes are already close and come running flat out at ya, ( by the way squeat at him to stop him or he'll pass ya up.)or it may take a while to get a more cautious or curious one to come. i don't spend more than a half hour at a stand, but thats just me.

Picking your shot: read the yotes body language, not much different than your own dog, they will display reckless greed, fear, etc. just watch that sucker close as he comes in, if hes at 200 and flat out running at ya, let him come till fur fills the scope. my average shot is maybe 50 yards, but many have been at 5 and 10 yards.
if he stops, slows down or verrs a little left or right, anything but blindly coming at ya, its time to shoot, pick your shot and wack 'em.
even if ya miss or mess up. don't panick, take your time to reaquire, blow some churps or panicked yote yelps at him or the other, and they very well may stop. the very moment they do, shoot!

I've got Calling All Coyotes V and it's pretty good so far. . .I haven't watched the whole thing yet, but his newer DVD's aren't grainy at all. . .
