I assume he wants to do it with broadheads to increase the degree of difficulty for those who don't have there broadheads flying identical to field tips or as accurately.  The tough part about broadheads is the cost per damaged arrow goes way up and for me the chance of cutting my own fletchings goes way up cause I am just that good....not.

This is exactly why.

So it's almost a bow and broadhead running contest.

I think you meant ruining and you can include my shoulder what gets ruined.  I think I would lose a ton of arrows by impacting them with my broadheads and by the end of the 6th or 7th round I would be spent, needing some serious ice and ibuprofen for my shoulder.

I think my maybe is now a no.  :sry:

I'd recommend turning your bow poundage down a little if it hurts your shoulder to shoot a small contest. Most folks are shooting a lot more poundage than is needed w/today's fast bows.

I can pull it back and shoot the Rinehart 100 no problem over the course of the entire day.

I can pull back and hit 20-50 yards pretty quickly, anything over that I have to hold longer. To shoot 100 yards you have to really hold steady and make sure you are on the mark.   If I am shooting 5-6 arrows each time and doing 6-7 rounds in less than an hour or hour and a half that is a lot of pulling and holding in a short period of time.  I just don't practice that many shots in that short of a timeframe.  I could lower the poundage, switch to a different sight and stack pins I guess to get to a 100 yard shot but that just seems like a lot of work to compete in one competition.

Sounds pretty awesome!
If you do end up doing it you should set up some flyers at a couple gun ranges, I'm sure that will get it more attention. And maybe even set up something here on Hunt WA where people can donate some money for a prize to the winner?

:archery_smiley:  Bumping this. Would like to see this happen, I would defintly make an effort to get there.
Now therefore, please take your weapons, your quiver and thy bow, and go out to the field and hunt game for me

I like the idea but it makes more sense to use field tips or change to unmarked distance of 30 targets. Who has 30 targets to shoot broadheads at? :chuckle:
I'm not sure.
