Why is it that egg nog is good for so much longer than milk? I just thought it sounded like someone was bashing cuz he didn't save the cape. Like someone said, maybe he had a bad cape like a big bald spot on his neck. I just didn't get why the cape mattered. I don't care that he shot this bull in December or that he's a native. I shot an elk last March in Pomeroy. :yike:
Eggnog IS the real underlying issue here if we are being honest :twocents:

I know right, why is it that if it taste's good then it's clearly bad for you? What kind of preservatives are in it that stuff? Strangely enough, alcohol does not make it last either.
I've never had it in my fridge long enough to hit an expiration date :dunno:  Normally I prefer my eggnog straight but I had some this weekend that was mixed with fireball and lord have mercy that was a dangerous combo!

Mmmmmmmm...fireball  :chuckle: hey, this is a serious topic so take your babble somewhere else. >:(

It would be much more difficult killing a bull during our general season. So I'd say that's why they are 'considerate' and "wait" until we are done hunting.

Also, tribal hunters actually don't wait at all- they're out elk hunting in August and September before our general archery season opens.

Not bashing, just stating the facts.

I've killed elk during general season. I just hiked to a high point and waited for the pumpkins to chase the elk my way. Heck, I could've laid out a few elk during archery late season if I wanted to since the area I was in was flooded with elk and hunters but I was being considerate and letting those with a time limit go 1st. I sat back and watched  about a dozen guys chase elk amd I could've picked off half the elk as I had a vantage point and the elk were easy pickings as they were barely running and tired since they'd been fleeing for life the last couple days.

I'm considerate because of time constraints for those without my time limits otherwise I'd just do what I've done before and let others chase elk to me. :dunno:

That's called pre-season scouting! :chuckle: Heck I just said earlier that I shot a cow in March this year and no one even questioned how. And I'm a whiteman! My wife shot one too!

How do you state “facts” about people you don't know? You have no idea when, where amd how my family and I hunt. That's called an assumption and generalization. The problem with every single tribal thread on here.

So you're saying tribal hunters don't hunt elk in August and September? My comment wasn't about you and your family specifically, since obviously I don't know you and this topic isn't about you. As you said, my comment was a generalization. But no, it was not an assumption.

Of course there's elk killed in August and September. When you say  they wait because it's easier is an assumption. Some people don't like to hunt elk with their tongues hanging out of their mouth because they've been running all day long. Some don't like the huge crowds during general. Some don't like to leave their truck during general because of theft and idiots. Some like winter because it's cooler and can hang the meat for longer. Yes some do it because it's easier.

Gee, I even wrote that I wasn't bashing but you still think I was?  :chuckle:

You're missing the point. Which was only that the tribal members don't have to wait until December to hunt. That's all. Call it whatever you want. I said it's "easier" to hunt outside of the general seasons. Less hunters, less pressure on the elk equals "easier." I would hunt outside of the general seasons too if I could. Who wouldn't? There's nothing wrong with an easy elk. Or, at least an "easier" elk.

I deleted most of them.   It was distracting from the thread.  I already had that thought when two other members reported it to me.   I wasn't picking on plat, but he can keep it on point.

Roger that.  Tried to redirect so it didn't spiral into a tribal bashing but I guess some people prefer that.  Thanks for the explanation
