I wanted to post this as a reminder to everyone to be safe, wear your lifejackets and its better to cancel a hunt then to end up dead.

Sad, and it sounds like they were well aware of the risk they were taking:

Its good to be in the habit of always wearing a life jacket. Its horrible for the families of these two guys to have to go through this.

Very sad for the families...   This is Social Media at its worst.  Lets go do something that is probably not that smart and post that we are doing it so everyone knows.  I wonder if there was no twitter for them to post on would they still have gone out in "Winter Storm Goliath" as he put it?

"Winter Storm Goliath" is actually the name that was given to that storm...

It is very sad this happened and who knows what caused the boat issue......they might well have had on life jackets but maybe hit a dead head in the dark on a piece of water they have traveled 100 times before.....maybe they were running late, rushing - trying to beat daylight, we have all been there.

How many waterfowl hunters chomp at the bit when they see a big storm is brewing and just maybe you will have one of those epic days? I know I do......Those big storms can bring in a lot of new birds.

Very sad indeed and a good reminder to be careful out there cause things can turn bad very quickly in the frigid waters.

Very sad for the families.  Now they rest where there are more birds than storms.
Slap some bacon on a biscut and lets go, were burrnin daylight!
