2015 wapiti hunt
« on: December 31, 2015, 12:51:18 PM »
Here are some pictures of my 2015 backcounty elk hunt. I was in a spike/cow are and shot this cow at first light of the second day; 45-yard shot. She ran 30-yards and piled up. Lungs/heart and thru the back shoulder. My arrow snapped in 3 places as she ran.

I was about 3 miles to the road so we boned her out in the field. I dated her tooth and she was 7-8 years old (lead cow). Her 6x6 boyfriend gave me a nasty glare as the herd scattered  :yike:

Nice job, looks a little steep in places :chuckle:

What do you mean you dated her tooth?

Hmmmnm, never seen that before, that's interesting, they usually use the molar wear for age estimating.

Thanks for sharing.
