First year trapper made my own traps for the most part chasing water fur so far up to five rats in the month if been out having a lot of fun falling through beaver dams and fighting salmon in my traps and mink breakouts!

I am no computer expert by any means but I use a photo hosting site and post from there. I use photobucket. I have never been able to post directly to this site without problems.
Just me? I don't know but I have uploaded single photos here and it takes a long time. I mean a really long time. Multiple photos, I've never made it work.

Yes it is! After two weeks of empty traps that first trap being sprung with a jumbo rat in it was about as much excitement as when I shot my first deer! Just as addicting I think as hunting and fishing

She is completely not haha but I'm currently working night shift so I can sneak in my trap checks early morning on the way home while she is sleeping

last year I was working night shift also. That worked out great for trapping. Id check on the way home, and skin till about 10am.  I usually hate night shift, but that worked out well.

Yep it's about the only reason I'm OK with night shift haha but next year should be even better cause my boy will be 3 years old and I think that's old enough to come check traps with his daddy while mom sleeps in haha

That'll be old enough, I took mine duck hunting when he was 2-1/2 . I've got a pretty good picture of him holding my shotgun with a binky in his mouth, and snot running out of his nose

Still can't figure out how to post pics but had another double on rats this morning!  Had to cross the beaver damn to check my sets and Mr beaver was not happy he tail slapped at me four times while I was fetching my rats out. Puts me up to 8 rats and a grey squirrel in a raccoon set. Order up some conibear triggers and number 1 1/2 music wire springs from fnt for my swim through thanks to Bruce for advice on that one! Also got some dobbins back breaker and lesel rueswatts all predator paist bait to try out. Any one work with either of these before?

back breaker seems to be ok. I make my own castor lure with some of the smaller castors I collect. so make sure you cut them out when you connect.

Let me see if I can talk you through to post a picture.

Go to your box where you are typing.
* Just below that box you will see where it says "Attachments and other options"
If you put your mouse on that you will see that it will underline that attachment statement.
Left click your mouse "hit It"

* Next what happens is another box appears below that that says: "attach":
and a box that say: "Browse ........."
Hit it

* It should open a screen to your computer.  On the left side (my does, not sure about yours) there is a screen that shows everything in your computer.  Pick the desk top or if you have a file there that says pictures.
Hit it

* that should put you into your picture files.
Hit the file that you want where the picture you want is.

* Hit (left click) the picture.............. and than hit open

*From there it should put you right back to this forum.
Look at the box that said: Browse that you hit.  Your picture should be there you can see the writing on the right of the Browse box.

**  Post your post........... if you hit preview you will not see your picture.  The only way you will see if the picture went through is you have to go back in after it was posted and see if it went through.  If you did it this way, they go through.

***  Open up a "New Subject" box and run through theses steps and see if they work.  You don't have to post it you can come back to this post or put a subject in the New Post something like Trying to post Picures and let us see what you did.

Are you posting from a phone or a computer? If a phone, is it an iPhone? I just fixed an apple issue. You might try it again. Usually when photos just plain won't post, it's because they're too big and need to be resized.

Beaver are driving me crazy! Twice they have knocked my colony traps over tonight they tipped one beaver cage out of there way instead of going thru it and smeared out my castor mound and somehow averted the other cage coming and going from the castor mound....gah!

i feel your beaver frustrations! But on the bright side, at least your not chiseling threw 4" of ice to check your sets   one thing I started doing was steaking my traps in place so they can't move it. Hope you get them soon

I stake the sides of mine also. 
 That little bit of ice that I delta with was a pain. I wouldn't want to deal with what you have going on.

True and I did stake them down last night so hopefully this morning will be better haha but if I had some ice maybe then I could find there hidden bank den and set right on there front door!

Well got another rat tonight that makes nine out of this creek that is only a half mile long anyone know how many more could be in the colony? Iv read up to twenty but I don't want to over trap this creek since it has been such a good harvest for my first year id like to keep the population. Healthy for next year!

Than I think you already answered your own question if you want to keep it healthy and have some for next year.  Pull now or run to an even number (10)
