Shooting long range set up 6.5......chip shot at 1040. First shot cold bore dialed  900  on a ten inch rock out on the brunton. Shot a coyote at 75 yards in the head with my .45 acp, when I was a  kid I shot a coyote with my  8mm Mauser well over 400 but back then we didn't have range finding  equipment  all I can say is there was some hold over , some say it was pure luck but the rest off us know better .  :tung:   I did shoot a buck once over 100 with a bow ,but since then I have become ethical  and limit shots to under 90.  NEVER once regretted taking any shots , but have regretted  not taking some .

Longest shot on a game animal is a caribou at 404. Target 500.
I've taken a number of game animals between 300-400 and prefer to keep it 400 or less.  I've pulled of a couple of impressive kills on ground squirls with my 17hmr at just over 300.  RImfires can be fun if there's a little bit of a breeze as I feel like I'm not even aiming anywhere close to the target but the Wind pushes it over there.  Bow 55 yards on a deer; 100 target.  One of these days Ill have to try some of that sniper stuff like you guys just to see if I can

I honestly did hit the saw blade 2 times off hand..... you read it on the internet and I've met Biggerhammer, so it's gotta be true...

Ah hahahaha! You made my evening!  I'm such a unethical jerk! Maybe you shouldn't admit to having met me face to face. Few here have! Also a antisocial jerk, it's hard enough for me to read stupid crap let alone have to endure it in person!

Few and between on here have met me, too. I'm too far away from anybody and I don't travel..to meet people, so, we're both special..    People would of not know that fact, until you broke the circle of trust..... :chuckle:
I couldn't care less about what anybody says..............

Not a long shot by any means, but most impressive I've made was on a Mt. Dew bottle at a little over 170yrds. Was out with a friend, and my nephew sighting in a Savage 110E 270 I had just bought at a missile silo outside Great Falls MT. We were standing at the back of my truck with rifles laying in bed. A few guys were shooting at the bottle that was up on the hill. One of them hit just under it and it began rolling down hill. I scooped up gun, bolted round, and shot at it. It exploded.  :yike: I layed rifle back down and continued conversation...lol..Never in a million years could I make again, and know was pure luck, but played it off like I did everyday.  :chuckle: My nephew still thinks I'm the modern day Quigley

That's awesome!

733 yards on a 10"x10" steel plate with 243 win shooting 64gr bergers and 105gr bergers and 95gr bergers
Farthest kill was a coyote at 430 yards with 300 wm shooting 125 gr sst (head shot was the only option)
Still feel the 400 yard shots at 3" round plate is my best shooting. 14 hits in a row with out a miss shooting 64gr bergers @3990

I killed an elk at 590 yards years ago before I knew much about ballistics, due to a combination of luck and some skill.

I passed on a nice mature Mountain Dew this year at 450. I didn't feel right about judging the crosswind and didn't want to wound it. Tracking them is a bugger..

he passed on the shot so I'd guess is was a 12oz or 16oz with possible ground shrinkage :chuckle:
