Squid Fishing
« on: January 03, 2016, 08:54:03 PM »
Went squid fishing last night in Edmonds. It was definitely fun, since there isn't a lot to do this time of year. Not to mention, they were delicious.
Edmond was kind of a far drive, we live up in Skagit County. Does anybody have advice on where we could go up North? Cornet Bay..Bellingham? Appreciate any feedback.  :)

Got the lic. Got the rules down. Just looking for some spots closer to home. Thank you though.

Thanks Run:) I looked into that, I found the municipal dock, but they have closed it. There's gotta be something out there though.

Nothing I've heard of. We have found squid egg cases on a lost crab pot, but I have not been able to find any info regarding squid in the San Juans.

I think there is some fishing in Mukilteo near the ferry, a bit closer than Edmunds.

The website lists Kayak Point, but I know they close the park at dark.

I'm in the same boat, Everett is probably the closest place if you have a boat.

Thanks guys. Yeah, kayak point closes, as dusk. I will have to take a look around a bit more and just give different places a shot.

No kidding. When I went last week the water was the color of chocolate milk and there was so much debris. At one point, a bunch of wooden crates and chunks of wood siding floated by. It looked like a shipwreck from a pirate movie.

Pbj3 we only caught 2. Ha ha. I think that our gear was too heavy. We didn't know when we had one on. But, they were talking about it being very slow.

I think the season was really early this year.
