elbe hills timber sale
« on: January 04, 2016, 11:16:46 AM »
So, I was in Elbe Hills State Forest recently and I saw some new markers for timber sales.

Does anyone know how to find out when the harvest is going to be? I am guessing before next deer season (that might explain opening the area for any buck this year.)

marker on the trees said "P1366 MF 12/29/15"

Opening Mashel to any buck was a big mistake. Who ever is making these decisions doesn't spend a great deal of time in the woods.

A timber sale has nothing to do with a change in hunting regulations. The agency responsible for the timber sale is the Washington State Department of Natural Resources, while hunting regulations are set by the WDFW.

For information on the timber sale, call the DNR. I think the Enumclaw office would be the one to call.

Go to the DNR web site they have a map of all current timber sales.

Why is that one unit different than all the others in western Washington that it needs an antler point restriction and all the others don't?

:yeah: there are timber sales all of the time. That is how the DNR makes their money. It has zero effect on game management.
