Digger
« on: January 05, 2016, 07:22:07 AM »
I know these guys like grubs, but I had never watched one dig like this guy was.  Hed dive into the hole then Id sneak closer.  Hed pop out, give me the stink eye, then decide whether to fly or not.   then back to digging...

It's a flicker.  He was dead set on some grub in the bank.  By the time we were done, he had himself quite a hole.  Dirt and snow was flying.   You can see the snow flying in the last pic.  It wasn't snowing, that was from him.

Beautiful pic of a bird I loathe.
We must reject the idea that every time a law's broken, society is guilty rather than the lawbreaker. It is time to restore the American precept that each individual is accountable for his actions.

:yeah: :yeah: Pretty birds but so destructive, what ever they nest in is FILLED with poop to by the time the chicks leave. Fought them hard in our old cabin before it burned, the new one is hardi plank so not much of an issue this time  :chuckle:. Lesson learned.
