I'm pretty upset that Coastal_native is the only one who got a bag
I received a bag from her, and have used her in the past for and just sent her a coyote.  Never had a issue with her, and will use her in the future as well.
Good to see someone is having a good experience that doesn't have the same server address as she does.

Seriously though there had to be people getting good service or she wouldn't still be in business. I hear she does great work, reasonable turn a rounds seem to be the only issue as well as a long line of excuses.
Pain is temporary, achieving the goal is worth it.

I didn't say it would be easy, I said it would be worth it.

I think there are lots of taxidermists with turnaround times of 2 to 5 years, or more. But the others just don't get talked about on here like Michelle does. The difference, I believe, is that other taxidermists answer their phone and if they can't, they return their customer's phone calls and emails as soon as possible.

Yeah the rug quality I have seen is impeccable.

I wouldn't want to wait even the average time period for a rug.  Plus I shoot small bears

Just looked at her site and galleries and there aren't many photos of her work.  Would think if she has done some great work she would have taken some photos to put up.

Small bears take less time don't they?  :chuckle:

Patience, my friends.......It is a virtue that not all of us have.

5 years is an extremely reasonable time frame to complete a taxidermy project......she is still dealing with tannery issues from 2012 and the great Phone outage of 2013.....Your time will come when you get the message of you have a 2 hour window to get your 1/2 complete project out of her shop.   :dunno:

Very sad state of affairs, but I am definitely entertained by the responses from you all.   :chuckle:

Really? You think 5 years is acceptable? I have never heard of the five year plan  :dunno: Most Taxi's will give you a 18-24 month schedule and there are many that get your stuff back in 12 -16 months! And so lets use your logic that 5 years is acceptable and the norm then why does she tell people that it will be ready in 18? why doesn't she just say 5 years and deliver it in 2 1/2? My guess is she knows that if she tells people the reality that she cant deliver it in under 2 years people will take their business elsewhere cause 18 is more of the norm than 5yrs  ;)

apparently the sarcasm font doesn't work very well.   I thought the tannery and phone excuses would have given it away.  No I don't think 5 years is acceptable.  Older clients would die in that time frame before seeing the finish product.

Coastal, I would be willing to take the bag in the pick off your hands if you fill it back up with your elk meat  :hello:

Kind of sorry to see how far this has gone, in the early years of Hunting-Washington, Michelle was a productive member and was always offering out advice, and had what "seemed" a steller reputation for quality.

Sad to see it deteriorate over the years.
Only 2 defining forces sacrificed themselves for you:
The American Soldier and Jesus Christ. One died for your freedom, the other for your soul.

My rock,
He trains my hands for war and my fingers for battle.

No way on the bag.  It's value is increasing with every post.  I feel the exact same way about this, though.

Also, Seth30 got a bag too...but he was an actual client.  So............I'm still feeling pretty good about myself.

Now you see my dilemma.  This is why I was hesitant to bring it up on here for the last 2 years.  This happened at the same time people started to complain about not getting their mounts back...and here I am with a free bag, having never even given her any work.

Weren't you supporting Michelle in some of the bashing threads?

If I was, I was probably drunk.  I really have no experience to talk from.....well....other than the free bag.  Sorry to keep bringing it up.

Yeah, I know.  I actually referred a couple folks to her and stood up for her for awhile.  I felt really bad and embarrassed about that.   That was years ago, and those clients probably still haven't got their stuff back.  Too many incidences and excuses since then.   Some quality folks really tried to help her get her stuff together to no avail.

I don't have the time to go into this right now, but I to am a "victim" of MNT.  I have PM'd the originator of this thread and dropped a couple of suggestion about a plan to move this towards resolution.  I'm sure over the next couple days I can get my story out there.  But for starters, I see MNT still has a couple "posts" locked into the threads about capping and care of them for mounts.  Lets start by getting a respected taxidermist to provide this information and get MNT's off the site, it's almost like "free advertising".  Just my  :twocents: at the present time. :bash: :bash: :bash:
