Meat Processing Equipment ( I Scored)
« on: January 05, 2016, 07:07:47 PM »
In December I had purchased a display model Cabelas Commercial 12" meat slicer in the Bargain Cave for cheap.  It was however missing the sharpener.  Not a big deal, but a pain to try to order one.  Low and behold I was in the Bargain Cave today and there was one sitting on a shelf waiting for it's rightful place on my slicer.  I scored.

However the story continues...........next post :chuckle:

Sitting next to it was a used 30 lb. Cabelas Commercial Sausage Stuffer.  It was marked down to $181.59....great deal.  I was definitely considering it at that price when I noticed sitting next to it, a box with the Cabelas Commercial Stuffer motor.  On the box was a piece of paper that said...."goes with stuffer".

Well that made it even a better deal.....a no brainer.  I had just ordered a smaller stuffer (5 lb) on sale  that was on back order.  After my $50 Cabelas gift card I got for Christmas, this whole setup was only like twenty some dollars more than the one on order and that one was a small manual one.  Needless to say, I took them home.

Missing two stuffer tubes which I can get.  Gears all looked good and operate just fine.  Just needs a good cleanup.

Think along with all the other stuff I bought last month (grinder, etc), I'll open a meat shop. :chuckle:

Nice, what was the return reason?  :dunno:

Sweet, we've got a small stuffer, would be nice to have the big one for summer sausage.

Not sure as it just said used.  Except for some minor cleanup, it looks pretty good and everything seems to operate, at least manually.

Someone bought it, used it to process sausage and took it back for one reason or another. :dunno:

LEM, 5 lb, hand cranked, worked great for pepperoni, but I'd only get maybe two sticks of sausage out of it before it had to be reloaded.

I can see how that 30 lb or even a 15 would be helpful. I'm like Loki i have the 5 lb LEM. Well built stuffer, but pretty small hopper for doing larger stuffings. Looks like that is a 2 speed as well which would be really nice to have.
Wonder how powerful those motors are? When stuffing with a 1/2 in tube for 19mm casings it takes quite a bit of pressure.

I love the Bargain Cave.  Got my stuffer (15lb?) from there a few years back.
