IMO the civet carcasses are not much good for bait except if you wish to catch more civits.
Sounds like you already made a decision on the glands. :chuckle:
no just didn't want it to spray me in the face. Hmmmmm I don't think I like skunks. I has it in a bucket of water with dawn soap, but I don't think this is going to help. Lol looked up ways to het rid of the smell. Dawn soap, baking sada, and hydrogen peroxide.

:yike: :yike: :yike: Not again  :bash: :bash: :bash: sorry guy but fur is fur  :dunno: Had a big fat Spotted Skunk in another trap. Seems like I have a good skunk area   :IBCOOL: didn't know how to release him with out getting sprayed. Shot him with my pistol from 12 ft away thru the gap between the door. That made him pissed and he tried to spray me, passed away fast. At least this is a big one. Looks like I had some in my other traps to, but the trigger is stiffer. Moved 2 of 3 traps. Placed one by a creek just off the road and the other one 40 yards away up on a bank. Will see if this   gets me a cat or more skunks. Also check my beaver set. :yike: :yike: dang beaver :bash: :bash: Hmmmm  :mgun: :guns: :hunter: :beatdeadhorse: he fixed the dam and was almost caught. Moved the pad but just not enough. Well I broke the dam even more and place trap in the center. Used the big sticks to help guide the beaver in to trap. This beaver don't respond to caster sent and he is a old vet.  What do you think?
1st pic- skunk
2nd pic- of beaver that fixed the break in dam
3nd pic- is after i broke the dam again and reset trap with guide sticks
4th pic- is long shot of trap after fixed and reset. Hope this works
I should have acouple swim thru traps made by Friday. Hoping to place them in the pond under water with dive sticks. This should get him. I am going all out to get this guy.

What size are your swim threws?  I've noticed it's easier to get those big boys with a wide swim threw. I've got a 12w 16h 48L.  Could not get him to go in till I turned it on its side. My next swim threws will be 16x16x48

haven't made any yet. One is going to be 13x13x42 and I am going to make some wide ones to 13x18x42 will see playing with different disigns. Hope to get some made and test. I like the small ones for small slides and creeks and wide ones for bugger areas.

I want a nice striped one to. Might end up with alot of stripped skunks this season and no cats. These little guys end up eatting all my bait up in one night.  Glad I grabbed some bait before I left to check traps today. Going to try and make some traps tomorrow at work. Laid off right now so perfect time to make some traps and get them out. Ordered 300 ft of 5/16 and 200 ft of 1/4  stock. Hoping to make some hancocks but might do that later after the season ends. Jake when do you want the trap back? Don't need it anymore just riding around in the truck. Let me know so I can meet up with you or drop it off at your work. I just live down the road from your work and drive by ever day to check traps.
