GOT MY FIRST HARLIQUIN
« on: January 11, 2016, 10:17:06 PM »
Got my first ever Harliquin on SAT. was hunting with Darkinnovation and we both had our harliquins with in 20 min of setting out decoys and we even stayed for a few more hours and just had harlis dropping in left and right in the spread. Getting him to the taxidermy as soon as I get the money.

There are lots of cool looking ducks out there, but the Harlequin is certainly one of the best. Congratulations!

Looks great! Congratulations!

Considering the 1 per season limit they must be a pain to locate, do they ever come inland at all or is this strictly a sea duck you head to the coast to find?

there a pain to locate, but when you do its a blast. this was taken in my buddies honey hole. we used about 2 dozen dekes on long lines and we both had ours down within 20 mins. after wards we just sat there as they came in landing in the dekes for a few min and then taking off again. every bird that came in was a harli. wish it wasn't just one a year.

Just depends on the day.  You'll see them every day for a few days then they won't be back for a week.  There's about a 5 miles stretch I scout every other day and I've seen Harlequin, Old Squaw, Surf Scoters, Buffies, Goldeneye.  Just takes persistence. Good job Josh!  If you need help locating the OS, shoot me a text.
