Another fun day in the snow
« on: January 11, 2016, 05:40:51 PM »
Woke up to a fresh skiff of snow Sunday. Took the oldest boy out for his first real coyote hunt. I was on a different part of the property when he shot his, so I'm a little disappointed I didn't get to share it with him.
I ended up shooting one by myself, the second one he could see me, but didn't see what I was shooting at. We both missed another one each.

Looks like fun with the boy.

By the way, what was the final tally on whitetails over your way?  What do you reckon the true impact of blue tongue was??

Bad, really bad. I was not allowed to hunt this spot where I shot theses coyotes. This land owner told me they found 30 on his property. The connecting property told me they found 20. Less than a mile away that land owner told me 26. I believe it, we saw very few deer this year. With the snow the lack of deer is confirming what everyone believed. You just don't see many in the fields like in previous years.
