my old honey hole is a moonscape
« on: January 17, 2016, 11:33:43 PM »
Haven't been out to "my good spot" in a couple of years. I'm not as serious as some here about shed hunting, but I always like finding a couple every year. Went out to my spot yesterday and the entire area was clear cut. So now I'm looking for a new area. Shouldve Google Earthed it I guess. 2 Hour drive for nothing.I wandered around but there werent many tracks around. Bummer. Time to start searching for new ground.  Maybe Idaho in the spring?

Google Earth might have helped but a lot of times those images are 2-3 years old or older. If that was a good place to shed hunt it probably will be a good place to hunt when that cut is 2 years old with a little cover on it. Even better when it's older with a lot of cover on it.

I would go to Idaho. I'm planning on heading to eastern Oregon and southern idaho this March for muley sheds.

I got up into my favorite blacktail hunting spot this year and they had clear cut all the timber the deer liked to bed in that was next to the baby reprod. I know the feeling!

I was looking at Oregon also. Just ready for some different country. Can't get out again until 3rd week of March because of work. Hoping to find a couple-even if theyre chalk.
