So I'm looking to add another hunt into my regiment this year and was wondering if anyone has any experience with this area.

With my little brother moving to another duty station soon, he doesn't know what his leave dates will be and with this season being so long it really gives us some options to hook up for some archery action.  I'd like to go early but I figure worst case scenario, we could hit it over Thanksgiving break.  Feel free to pm me if you don't wanna share over the interweb

I made a 400 day calendar using hunting pics and shutterfly, so we're good to go

I grew up in Salt Lake and spent most of my youth tromping around the Wasatch Front.  Still have a couple of brothers down there and go down that way every year.  Wasatch front takes in a lot country and a good portion of the best hunting is private. Don't know what area (from Provo on the south to basically Brigham city on the north) you're looking to go into. Mostly pretty steep country and it gets hunted very hard. Most of the best deer/elk country is private and takes a lot of pre scouting and investigation to get into.  I can't get more specific until I know more about where you are planning on going. We spent a lot of time hunting the East Canyon area and took many big mule deer out of there and a few elk. It was very private when we hunted it and we had permission from a personal friend who owned about 40,000 acres. He sold and we've since hunted more in the Moab area where there is more public ground to hunt.  We see some huge elk down there every year, but I can't seem to draw a permit.

I was stationed there for 5 years and had one spot I liked.  You can get there a couple of different ways, but so you can find it on the map...Drive to Evanston WY and then north on HWY16 to Woodruff, UT.  Take a left on 39 and look on the map for the Strawberry Ridge area.  Respectable amount of elk/moose and lots of mule deer.   Road is not snow maintained so a late hunt would be iffy without a snowmobile.

Thank you for the reply.  Haven't really narrowed down a specific area yet as I am in the early stages of my research but we would most likely put in for the wasatch west general tag, and then fall back on the wasatch extended area season if need be later on. I'm into thin air, sore feet, and long summer days so hopefully we can get there late August or early September and hunt em up high.
