Idaho Pronghorn
« on: January 12, 2016, 05:29:20 PM »
I've been interested in hunting pronghorns recently, and today a customer came in to where I work at on Fort Lewis that is from Idaho.  Small talk turned into hunting adventures and we started talking about hunting speed goats in Idaho. I'm just looking to fill a tag and get some meat for the freezer, and any animal would be a trophy to me. Would Idaho be a good hunt for what I want, and are the tags relatively easy to draw? I'd be open for either archery or rifle. Any info will be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Try montana or wyoming. Should be much easier to get a tag. Antelope are a blast to hunt.

Ok thanks.  About how long would I be looking at to draw a tag there?

ID doesn't give out many rifle tags and they are hard to draw.  They do have some units that are otc for archery.  If you really want to hunt antelope I would look into hunting WY.

You can hunt WY this year.  Still need to draw, but there are units you can draw on an annual basis.  More antelope in WY than robins.

compared to wy and mt there is a lot less antelope in Idaho. I did the otc archery in august we got one but sitting in a blind on water all day in crazy heat was not that great of a hunt. I would definitely go wy then mt
