Dan Haggerty died this morning
« on: January 15, 2016, 10:23:29 AM »
Rest in peace, Grizzly Adams.
One of my favorite childhood memories with my grandfather was watching that show.

:fire.:

" In today's instant gratification society, more and more pressure revolves around success and the measurement of one's prowess as a hunter by inches on a score chart or field photos produced on social media. Don't fall into the trap. Hunting is-and always will be- about the hunt, the adventure, the views, and time spent with close friends and family. " Ryan Hatfield

Ah man I loved that show as a kiddo.

And what the heck why are all these great people dying, we have surpassed the standard "in threes" now its just getting creepy.

So did Alan Rickman and Celine Dion's husband.
The things that come to those who wait, may be the things left by those who got there first!

Every week I could not wait for his show to come on. As a boy the world stopped for me during that time. The theme song will always have a special place in my heart.

This is worthy of a bump. All I ever wanted to do as a boy was to grow up and live like Grizzly Adams.

So we are all lamenting the loss of a man who portrayed an accused murderer who ran away and hid in the hills instead of facing the music and having his day in court.   :chuckle: :chuckle: :chuckle:  the good ol days aren't so good when you break it down.

He wasn't the trainer from what I was told, but think he had part ownership.  Ben was actually a sow.  It died a few years ago and is buried by some old growth firs overlooking the Dungeness River.  Have heard it was the oldest brown bear known of.

Mad Jack who loved flap jacks off the griddle, and old #7 the donkey. Awesome show it was, loved it as a kid.
