I've been asking a few questions about dog stuff and this guy is the reason why. I will post the progress and some questions I have so as not to start new topics. His name is Mel which is the name of my first and only hunting dog who passed Nov. of 2004. He is 11 weeks old tomorrow, I got him at just a little over 7 weeks old. I have bonded with him real well. It was just him and me for the first 3 days at home my wife and daughter and other dog were out of town. I take him to work every day I have a kennel crate in my office. He is house broke, and his only peed 5 times in the house and it was my fault for not seeing his signals, not one poop in the house, he knows sit, stay, come, he heels ok on and leash and will sit at the whistle. He is starting to love fetching. He's not perfect because he's a puppy and wants to play a lot. Right now training is play. I'm using the books Water Dog and Speed Training Your Own Retriever.
