Washington following Wyoming?
« on: January 18, 2016, 08:18:25 PM »
Why can't Washington allow people to buy their points for the year after the draw is over? Pay another 7 bucks when they buy their tags late but still get their points for the year. I know some of you guys are familiar with the system and might have a better explanation then what I can think of.

Because in states like Wyoming points actually matter. In washington they really don't mean much.

I wouldn't be surprised if the WDFW decided to start doing that. Why not, it's money they get for nothing. That's why other states have done it- just for the extra revenue it provides. But I see no reason why people can't apply for their points by the middle of May.

Well if someone can't afford tags until October for some reason they can still get their point. I was at Fred Meyers years ago when a guy came up to buy his permits and the lady told him it was to late. He was really bummed for missing out on his points

Why do they not matter as much in Washington Vs other states?

This would never never happen!  A large group of people would quit buying licenses and just buy points until they got their numbers up.  This state is way to greedy!  think how much it really costs you to buy a point.  You have to buy the expensive license, tag, and then application.  The state would loose lots of money because you could buy a point with just the application portion and they would miss out on the license and tag fee.  Never happen!!!!!!!!  We have to many people on social welfare plans and entitlement plans here in this liberal state.  As it is, the state takes all of our sportsman's money and puts it in the general fund were they give it all away to losers who don't want to work.  I would be surprised if the WDFW gets a third of the money that it actually takes in.  If hunting wasn't so profitable for the state, the liberal tree huggers would have already tried to outlaw it due to their bunny hugging ideals.  But money trumps all in a liberals agenda.  we will never see a points buying only option with out buying a license and tag first.  Makes me sick but it is just a simple fact.

Well, good point but they could still require the purchase of the tag/license plus the application fee in order to "buy" a point after the regular application period is over.

I laughed the whole time reading this because it's so true it's funny. I honestly believe that's why they have the permit system is because of the money it creates just giving someone hope they might draw a good tag if they put in for year. That's why they created all of the different applications now with antlerless, bull hunt, quality hunt, and what's the deal charging us 13 dollars for a quality permit application and 7 for the rest? Just nickel and diming us. I'm fine with the requirement for buying the license and tag to get the point but let people do it if they miss the deadline period. Maybe someone from WDFW will read this and change the rule this year, but I doubt it.

It's like the powerball. We see and hear about people winning so we keep playing knowing we probably won't win. It's fun dreaming though! I'm dreaming of a 335 any bull early archery tag. Had some monsters where we were last year

probably off on a tangent here, but i sure wish i could put in for a rifle tag and hunt the general muzzleloader season without buying the multi-season tag.
you can still get gas in heaven, and a drink in kingdom come,
in the meantime, i'll be cleaning my gun
