I saw this on a trip to Oregon...Would this detour other coyotes? Or is it a wolf??

Western tradition, kinda. When someone kills a Coyote on a Rancher's land, lots of times the rancher wants it hung in the fenceline. Not sure if it deters coyotes or just shows the land owners that you're getting a few killed.

Ranchers appreciate it when you save a few more calfs by killing the dogs. Hanging on the fence shows them you got one for them. Kind of a tradition.

That is a coyote.

I've seen ranchers and small time farmers do that with birds and also yotes.
