Caliber choice.....search that one...tons posted on it.  Just remember most are very biased towards their caliber of choice.  Look at the info, compare ballistics, your situation (reload or not), your comfort with shooting, animals your going to hunt, then make a choice that best suits you.

Stainless-Synthetic not even a question or thought for blue or wood.

T3 synthetic. I have one, like it (except for the plastic clip). I wouldnt go with wood cause I live on the wet side...

Blued barrel, again, thats just me. I dont care for stainless.

For a deer rifle, I don't mind the stainless, but for a yote gun I prefer matte black so its not shiny. No more wood stock guns for me either. Wood swells when it gets wet, and I would be too scared of scratching it. Too much plastic on the Tikka for me. Haven't checked out the A7's. :twocents:

You give me a rifle with a wood stock and blued barrel... after 5 seasons it'll look like a fence post. Synthetic/Stainless is the only way to go... especially living on the wet side of the state. Just because it's stainless... don't mean it's shiny... my bead-blasted stainless finish is much less reflective than most blued rifles... and, it's WAY better looking.

I have it in .300 wsm. But .270 would be nice for you. You can do bout all you need with a .270. I got the .300 wsm as I dont like things to move after I hit them. ;)

Just find something you can shoot comfortably and confidently, and go from there.  ;)

use the built in rails, get a standard caliber, 270, 308 or 30/06, buy a rattle can of dull paint if you dont like stainless.
When the chips are down..... the buffalo is empty!!

I do not shop at Amazon
