Restoring old sheds?

Hello I was wondering if anyone had any tricks for restoring older antlers to original color?  Lots of different methods online, any advice appreciated

I've had good resultes with walnut colored stain. That being said, I recently stained a bull rack and it looks terrible! The results on my blacktail sheds was much different than the elk rack. I think it was due to the color of the rack pre-stain. The bull was bleach white and the blacktail were just beginning to lighten up and were not even close to light to begin with.

I didn't get to finish my sentence.   I hate stained antlers, but that method is the most realistic I can find to do,it naturally.

There was a thread on here a couple years ago where a guy was looking to restore a set of moose antlers that were at glance way gone and chalk white, turned out amazing. I remember a lot of good info popped up in that thread and I believe his method was outlined...I'll see if I can drum it up.

Wood crack putty a few colors of stain(I like red mahogany and special walnut and acetone for tips.   Best done by hand and rag. Wipe on then off. 10 thin coats is better then a heavy coat.  I've never seen an antler that was tha same color from base to points. Use the acetone or thinner to polish tips and fade that color from dark bases to lighter then white tipped. For wood putty go with natural pine or a similar white wood. Bondo works for chewed antlers too and stains ok
