So I might be just a tad illiterate. I'm reading over the Wyoming non resident information. Can I buy points without purchasing a license? Maybe I'm misreading it. I am wanting to buy points for Wyoming mule deer and possibly antelope. I can purchase the points in July right? Am I also understanding that you have to have a resident of the state of Wyoming with you? Okay now Idaho. I hear a lot of guys saying OTC non resident it's still possible to get decent units for mule deer. Is that fairly accurate?

WY, yes you can buy points and you don't have to be a resident. You can also put in and draw your second choice without losing your preference points.  So you can shoot for the stars with your first choice and draw an easier unit with your second choice and still build points. You don't have to have a resident or guide in WY unless you are planning on hunting in a wilderness area.

ID, yes you can buy an OTC and hunt both whitetails and muleys.  Some units are draw only, but there are quite a few areas open for OTC tags.

Thanks for the response. I plan to stack up a few points before heading that way. I'd like to get a good unit in Wyoming.

We have the same plan.  I think our group has 4 points across the board for deer, elk and antelope.  We might cash in our antelope this year, but I think we are another 5 to 10 years out for the deer and elk tags we want. Definitely worth the money if you have the means to build points.  :twocents:
