So all rc hobbyist should have their freedom taken away because some people are scared of toys with cameras...just like how some people are scared of ar 15s...
You never know how someone will react.  I know a guy that brought over a new, $4,000.++ drone to show off.  Launched it in the backyard and took it to something like 500 feet.  Ran a loop around the neighborhood where you could barely see the thing.  Later I had neighbors that I've known and gotten along with for years voice concerns.

If we'd been flying it at 90 feet and hovered over the neighbors house long enough, it would not surprise me to have it knocked out of the air.
If you are at 300 feet, it won't be in range.  If it's looking in windows and hanging out for an extended amount of time at low altitude, it may get shot.

I don't have a stake in this either way.  However, if I was on a jury, I'd be inclined to believe the guy that thought he had a reason to shoot one down, had lots of time to arm himself with a shotgun and the drone was in range (low elevation).  In Texas, the drone operator was several blocks away hovering the drone over young girls sunbathing.  It is no surprise that guy got off.  pun intended

Turns out that firing a gun into the air to shoot down your neighbor’s drone is illegal. In other news, water is wet.

The Federal Aviation Administration confirmed to Forbes that — despite what some well-armed citizens may think — trying to shoot down a drone is, in fact, a felony punishable by up to 20 years in prison.

The FAA made the statement in response to questions by Forbes following an incident in which an Arkansas man thought his neighbor was flying a drone over his backyard to videotape his children. To stop what he saw as an invasion of his privacy, the man grabbed his rifle and shot the drone out of the sky.

But, according to the FAA, a drone is considered a civilian aircraft. And, under Title 18 of the U. S. Code, section 32, destroying one can get you up to 20 years in the slammer, as well as a hefty fine.

Grown men playing with rc controlled toys. Sad. Isn't there some work somewhere for them to do?  If your playing with toy airplanes,  well,  I just don't get it. Same thing as grown men playing video games.

To those of you who think kids or even some special adults with drone's won't think its a fun joke to spy on someone.  :tinfoil: :pee:

Hey Crunchy, ever give the sex offender map a look? No one is going to stop them from getting drone's.  :bash: :bash: :bash:

I'm not completely against drones and I see they have some purpose. It would be a great toy for scouting or just getting the lay of the land but I still think they'll get into the wrong hands and get abused just like everything else that can be.
