Sawyer gravity filter, works the same as the platypus but with a better filter.

Depends on the hunt.  If you have flowing water or mountain lakes you are pulling from then aquamira drops are money.  If elk wallow is gonna be your likely water source then I take the Katadyn.

Those Katadyn base camp filters are great plus for a couple of bucks you can get an attachment that allows you to use it as a portable shower

this thread is a bit old but Woot.com has the lifestraw mission gravity feed system. only for one more hour. 69$ for the 5lt and 79$ for the12lt.

Is the Katadyn Hiker PRO Water Filter better then the MSR Sweetwater Filter? I have been using the MSR but it seems like it takes forever to fill up a bottle, just wondering if the Katadyn is quicker and easier to use...

ya it's awesome.   I don't carry bladder bags anymore just a couple nalgene bottles but I'm swapping those to kleen canteen stainless so if needed I could cook in them or melt snow in it
