Yes, they are in-to-out swinging,
i been building mine with doors swing in. Many of the spots I've had success I had to but the trap right up to a hole in the bank or hut. So to keep my doors clear I figured they where safer inside than out. I may try swing out but I'm liking these. Only down side is they need to be longer that way or the doors close on the critter. I think that's how I lost the otter

I honestly think that is a misconception that the traps have to be longer if the doors are inside the trap as opposed to how Comstock makes them.
I have made swimthroughs that are 32" and 34" long and successfully used them on beaver and otter. Comstocks are even a little longer, 36".
You cannot use anything much less then 36" because a beaver won't fit but inside doors, out side doors, they both work.

:yeah:
I thought about making these swim thrus 32" that way they will fit inside my cat traps and make transporting easier but I still have a bunch of 18" cage material left so I figured I'd try building a  few cages without having to cut it up at all. The inward door on my cat traps make it so I can't fit a 36" into it without the door part way open.

Got another cat today. Probably 15-18lbs. Not the best colors but nice thick fur.
Set out a skunk trap at one of my sets too. I'm using far fresher bait so it isn't as stinky as I had a few weeks ago when I had skunks at every trap. That is obviously what really gets the civets coming in.

It's not the size of the trophy that make's it a trophy.

Is that because they're traveling more while searching for mates?

Yes, the males are covering more ground looking for a mate and they are not hunting so they are hungry. More apt to come into bait.
Catch a Tom in January they will be fat as can be. All that fat is gone by April.
