Question on Kuiu packs

I am considering upgrading my Badlands 2200 to a Kuiu Icon pro.  However, A friend has one and said it is pretty noisy in the brush.  Archery Hunting in the jungles of the NE corner this could be a dealbreaker.  Any opinions from Kuiu owners?

Any pack not made of fleece or wool is noisy. 160 and 500 cordura are noisy materials when rubbing on brush.

Exo, Kuiu, Kifaru, Stone Glacier, Parodox etc are all noisier than a KOM or a Bison Gear for instance

If you are bow hunting go with is the most quiet if you are shooting long distance go with Kuiu ... if you are looking for the lightest you can get with the best quiet factor keep your badlands ...

This has sort of been my opinion too, but I would love to try the kuiu too

I have also wondered about 1850 vs. 3200.  Seems my 2000  inch dry sack on the load shelf of the 1850 when I need the extra space.  Again my concern would be the bigger pack running on the brush.  Thoughts?

I've got the icon pro 1850. Perfect day pack size. I have only rifle hunted with it so far. This will be my first archery hunts with it.

As far as noise, I never thought "man this pack is loud in the brush" didn't seem to make any more noise from any other pack I've used or clothing I've worn.

Any pack not made of fleece or wool is noisy. 160 and 500 cordura are noisy materials when rubbing on brush.

Exo, Kuiu, Kifaru, Stone Glacier, Parodox etc are all noisier than a KOM or a Bison Gear for instance

If you asked to check one out there should be someone near you here on HW that could let you put your hands on one.

Both the 1850 and 3200 are more narrow then your torso so there shouldn't be a big difference between them in noise and catching brush.

Just a thought but Exo is made in the USA and is coming out with a 2000 ci pack that should be only $50-75 more then the 1850.

I've shot 3 bulls with the kuiu on my back and packed them out.  I wouldn't hesitate to purchase the icon pro again.  Great pack.  The pack I have is the 1850 with the frame.

Now if you have the full kit 1850 can you just buy the bag for the 3200 and place it on the same frame as the 1850? I really like that the kuiu's are light to start with ... The one thing that has always bugged me about the eberlestock packs is that they are like 10 pounds before you start putting anything in them!!! With my badlands or my sitka flash I can put 4-5 pounds of gear in it before I am equal to the dry weight of the eberlestock and with a kuiu I could bump that up even another pound or two?

Kuiu uses the same frame for 1850, 3200, 5200, 7200 and you can put the Ultra bags on that frame as well.

Eberlestock and Mystery Ranch have very heavy bags compared to most companies. I was as able to cut multiple pounds off of my MR by eliminating things I never use or didn't need.

I don't own a Kuiu and don't plan on owning one. I have had multiple people tell me they are very comfortable with light weight (less than 30 or 40 pounds) but the load lifter straps loosen under heavy weight and need to be continuously adjusted. Whether that's just a couple peoples problem or its a chronic issue with the pack I don't know.

 The heavier weight icon pro bags are definitely quieter than the ultra bags. I've owned both. Neither one was too loud for a rifle hunter in most circumstances, but could be a little noisey for a bow hunter. Also, go for the 3200. I own a stone glacier solo, roughly 3300cu. I use it for everything. I would never want anything smaller. They compress to almost nothing while hunting.
