Weather affects on coyotes
« on: February 10, 2016, 09:26:54 AM »
I am getting out and hunting this coming Sunday and Monday.  I know that right before cold weather fronts coyotes are more active.  But what about warm weather streaks?  This next week even though it is breeding season, it is also warming up.  What type of movement or response should I expect?  Any of you have experience with this?  Thanks.

Right after a stormy period, during a warm trend, at mating season. These should all be helpful factors. Personally, I have been getting skunked lately. Seen sign and heard coyotes, east and westside, but haven't had a shot or even a look at a coyote!

Shot one sunday. Coyote pup in distress.  I've heard them most everyday this week.

Is there much snow left on the ground over there?  Specifically around royal city area?

No snow, They are breeding been killing spotting bitches lately.
First light is going to be your best bet.
When it starts to get warmer ( Mid morning) , they are going to bed down,Once they bed down your going to have to set up close to them to get one to come if at all.
Vocals and distress will do the job.
