Fun day to end the season. 7 of the 13 birds my buddy and I got. Called it a limit around 1 cause we had sailed a golden eye across the Columbia and were unable to retrieve him. Hunting buddy was a little tired haha

Met up with my buddy at 12:30pm, hunting by 1.  Figured we'd hunt until the bitter end and enjoy a peaceful, sunny, laid back afternoon, away from the crowds, reminiscing about the season gone by, and maybe/hopefully shoot a few birds, but it wasn't really about that, it was about being able soak it all in.  We didn't quite make it to 4:50, as luck would have it we banged out #14 at 4:42 to end our season 8 minutes ahead of schedule.  Already making plans for next season!

Did a quick evening hunt after the Silver Arrow Bowmen 3d on sunday. Lots of pintails out but they were more wary than the greenheads. We were only able to down one greenhead but I cas able to get several to come into the spread and  finish.

Spent the last weekend with many buddies and a comical hunt with my daughter. Big thanks to the wives who put up with 3 months of early starts and bad smelling dogs. Rest well ducks, I'll be coming for you again.

Made it out sat morn for the one and only puddle duck hunt this year. My youngest boy had been begging me to go so figured we better get out there. Took him and my niece he has been on several duck and goose hunts and it was her first. Had a great time but it was over way to fast. Took longer to set up than it did to shoot my 7 birds
Would have been all green heads but had a darn suzy get to close on the last flock so got her and a greenie in one shot. Oh well it happens and they eat the same
Now its time for late season geese
