Tacoma Shopping
« on: February 12, 2016, 03:04:53 PM »
With my '91 about to take a dump on me, now is the perfect time that I need to be looking around for a new to me truck. I have been keeping an eye on the 99-07 tacomas. I don't want anything newer than that as my goal is to not have a truck payment and have leftover money for making adjustments on the truck.

Looking for feedback on if there is an engine during that time span to stay away from and pros/cons of those years. Also, of any of you have a tacoma within the specified years, I would like to hear how you like them. Thanks.

If you find a Tundra with the 4.7 liter v8 and low miles I would definetly be considering that! One of the best motors Toyota ever made :twocents:

Do a quick search for the many 'adjustments' required.

I've had 3 of them in those years...my current is an 05 and I loved every one of them...the previous 2 were 99's and the only down fall was they were not 4doors....my truck now has the 5ft bed and can be small at times but I don't haul alot....both motors the 3.4 in the 99s and the 4.0 on the 05 have been great...no issues at all...just keep up on the maintenance with them and you'll be good to go...what kind of adjustments are you wanting to make?
