There is never much conversation about Mugabe...

Chattaronga is South African based.  They have to partner 50/50 with a Zimbabwe national to do business there.  They found a great guy to partner with (Vexford Safari's) and have been with them for several years now.  Been a good deal for all parties.

Fascinating tales. Congratulations to you and your father. I'm sure the trip will be remembered fondly forever.

Took a few screen grabs of the shots I took.  First shot is of the hippo.  The next 5 are of the croc I did not recover.  One before I shot, and 2 right after I shot, then two more on my follow up shot at 120 yards while he was swimming away.  you can see I hit the water just behind him.  should have been a solid hit.  Oh well!

Very cool. I'm sure the locals were fine with two crocs getting shot.

Fascinating!!! Thanks for sharing. Like Bearpaw the details are amazing.
I'm curious as to why the locals don't kill a hippo occasionally for meat. No firearms?

Thanks for sharing.  Really enjoyed the pics and write up.
As long as we have the habitat, we can argue forever about who gets to kill what and when.  No habitat = no game.

I don't know if you have any insight to the economic situation in Zimbabwe. Are they still operating on the American dollar? About 15 years ago that country went through a bad bout of hyperinflation  and abandoned thier national currency.
A few years ago I purchased three, Zimbabwean $100 Trillion Dollar bills, when my son was learning about money.
