I have one in .243 and its a great shooting little rifle.  Heavy but crisp trigger.  The heavier barrel makes recoil very minimal.  It was my wife's first rifle before she moved to a bolt action.

A buddy of mine had one in 45-70 that I reloaded for.  It was a blast to punch big holes clear through big stuff with it.

I'm playing with one in .22 hornet fun little gun, shoots good but it really slings out the emptys. Anyone know if there is a way to adjust that it change it?

they stopped making the ejectors and went to extractors.  I think I've seen DIY instructions online to change them.

I bought a Survivor in .308 for my kids to use.  My daughter is a lefty and my son is leaning right.  Figured a single shot would be a good compromise.  Heavy barrel and heavy trigger, but it shoots pretty good.

  We have one and it's taken 5 or 6 first deer. Cant remember if my buddy used it or a t/c I had. Great little rifles.

  My plan was to hang on to it until my kids could use it but the LOP is a bit longer than some youth guns and my kids are REALLY small, so im thinking I need to part with it and pick up a Ruger American youth model .243 instead.  Bit lighter, and more compact.  Some light charges of 3031 behind a 58gr vmax will make for a fun shooting little kid gun

Yeah my thoughts as well. I was hoping my kid or kids will use it some day to but you are right it's a little long in lop and a bit heavy. I am also thinking compact tikka or American.

Mine actually started life as an ultra light .243. It had a pencil thin 16" barrel and the stock had an 11" lop. My boys both killed there first deer with it and several more after. They're both grown and on to bigger better rifles, so I had a hornet barrel fitted and bought and adult size stock. I plan to use it as a squirrel rifle and impromptu coyotes.
