NEW WA GUN RIGHTS ATTACK "Extreme risk protective gun order"

And here we go again...

Extreme risk protective gun order

Another Wonderful Initiative.

Today the billionaire backed gun prohibition lobby unmasked its newest attack on your rights, a Washington State gun control ballot initiative they intend to call “extreme risk protection orders.”

The anti-rights groups made the announcement in front of TV cameras today in Seattle without even first disclosing any of the language for the proposed initiative.

Click here to donate and oppose the “extreme risk” initiative.

The “extreme risk protection order” bill introduced in the Washington State Legislature and supported by the same anti-gun groups failed to be approved by the Judiciary Committee. The bill introduced in the legislature featured the following:
  • Lose your guns and your gun rights for at least one year
Accusation by one person of being a “risk” can lead to losing your rights
Among the “risks” are recently acquiring a firearm or ammunition, or even drinking alcohol
No right to a formal appeal hearing, erasing your due process rights
Guns can be confiscated without being arrested or convicted of a crime
Guns can be confiscated without adjudication or treatment for mental illness
False accusation is not a felony
Disobeying the order is not a felony

A law like this would be ripe for abuse in every divorce, breakup, and countless other domestic, family, and household disputes.

Billionaires like Michael Bloomberg, Nick Hanaur, Paul Allen, Bill Gates, and Steve Ballmer will no doubt give millions to this new anti-gun initiative effort to buy the election. At the beginning of the fight over I-594 they claimed they had the support of 80 to 90 percent of Washingtonians. But on Election Day, that only turned out to be 59 percent, even after they spent tens of millions to mislead voters.

We need your help opposing this new law. Please donate today.

In Freedom,

The Protect Our Gun Rights Team

PS: Please forward this email to your friends. We need to get the word out.

That is the Seattle goal. Don't think the rest of the state likes the idea. No choice in the matter. Never is with totalitarianism.

We really ought to start talking seriously about that idea of having Eastern WA and Eastern OR join the State of Idaho.

How can that not be unconstitutional?

Those pushing it know it isn't.

And the west side could join CA. Everyone could be happy.
But for some reasons totalitarianism likes the taste of its enemies suffering.

Our system could be improved some if there was some form of certification that proposed initiatives to the people or bills in the legislature would not be ruled unconstitutional.  The way I see this, it is a passive form of treason and the penalty should be the same as treason.

I believe we would have a stronger union if people did not propose bad laws for fear of frozen assets and jail time.

I believe the Secretary of State has to approve Initiatives for the ballot. Not sure what kind of constitutional screening he gives them.

What I would propose is to box the leftists/stateists in by putting a separate measure on the ballot that says:

a) if you steal a firearm you are going to prison for five years, no early release no parole etc, for each firearm stolen.
b) if you are in possession of a stolen firearm you are going to prison for five years, no early release no parole etc, for each stolen firearm in your possession.
c) if you commit a crime while you have a stolen firearm on your person, you are going to prison for twenty years ON TOP OF ANY OTHER SENTENCE, no early release no parole etc, for each firearm stolen.

This ballot measure would also demand that a database be available online in which ANYONE could check to see if a firearm they were considering had ever been reported stolen.

And remember:
The NRA-ILA is not going to be of any help in fighting this latest ballot measure, they are now a wholly owned subsidiary of the establishment Republicans.GOA is a much better place to donate to protect and preserve the Second Amendment right now.   Still donate to support the hunter safety and competition that the NRA supports, but don't give to the NRA-ILA or NRA-PVF and I say this as a Benefactor member and father of three Life members of the NRA.

@JDHasty

I could not agree more with your ILA comments.  My 13 year old son is the 4th generation in my family of NRA life members. It was grandpa's gift to a newborn.   I am a Benefactor, my dad an endowment Life.  I wrote a letter to the ILA post 594 and asked what their plan was now, challenge in court?, and why they did not do any proactive fighting the bill like they did 20 years ago with 696 when Charleton Heston came and did a speaking tour and print ads where everywhere.

I got back a very snotty reply that said they did everything they could and I needed to give more money.  I was so upset with the arrogance and tone of the letter I almost resigned.

If this wins, expect more.

Until there is no money in gun control for politicians and initiatives fail (this would take Seattlights reading Emerson's Self Reliance rather than the communist manifesto), this will be a yearly thing until WA is CA.

These politics are no more than "people hurting others they don't like via the violence of the state". Those that don't like guns, or self reliance, or people with self respect and decency, Emerson readers, etc... can sit back and watch their enemies suffer.

I am not a Noam Chomsky fan at all. But he does speak the truth saying, "A successful democracy turns humanities natural aspirations into hopelessness". When I see garbage legislation like this, and the retarded masses clapping for it, I certainly feel hopeless.

The ILA and NRA-PVF is infested with Washington DC establishment types who are just too cozy with the eGOP.  Do not resign, the NRA needs your support for Firearms Safety and Competition that they sponsor and no one does that better.  There is a general housecleaning in need within the ILA and PVF and until that happens send your Second Amendment donations to GOA.

The Endowment, Patron & Benefactor levels what are known as "Super Life" members and basically what that means is that you have given a certain amount of money in support over the years.  You don't get any additional benefits, you just get recognition for a lifetime of contributions.  And "snotty" is just them warming up.  There are some real pieces of work entrenched within that ILA/PVF den of inequity.
