I use the Vias because the pattern is bigger, I think it looks cool and it helps with concealment at a greater distance. Smaller patterns tend to blob at distance. With the grid pattern on verde I think it makes the pattern smaller even though the gray and green areas are larger.
Hunt Backcountry Podcast had a good talk with the gentleman who helped first lite develop their Fusion camo. He had some interesting positions on pattern, color and shades.
I agree with his position that in general, breakup and contrast in combination with a hunters skill in being still, downwind, has a greater impact on ungulates ability to identify a hunter than color and natural pattern.
I had good luck last year and shot my elk at 10 yards with Vias/Multicam on. He never made any indication that he knew I was there. I had the wind, a good backdrop and partial concealment because of the topography in a position where I had good footing and was able to be very still. The camo helped by breaking up my outline but if I'd have had Verde on, I still think I'd have meat in my freezer.

P.S. I think this gets over analyzed due to the commercial nauture of camo. I have started paying more attention to the performance of the material of the camo than the camo pattern itself. Recently bought some First Lite Merino in Fusion, stuff kicks ass, but love my Kuiu Kenai, so now I have Vias/Multicam/Fusion...
