Remington 700 VTR

I am surprised I haven't heard a lot of chat about this unique piece. Maybe I missed it but thought I would provide a link if you haven't seen it. I handled one at Cabelas last week. It did not have the muzzle break but it was kinda cool what with a triangular barrel and all.

Some people spend their entire life wondering if they made a difference. Marines don't have that problem.

I've owned mine (with the brake) for almost a year now, and I know wastickslinger just bought the one without the brake a couple weeks ago. The one without the brake is a Cabela's exclusive, and I wish I could have got one without the brake when I bought mine. I really like them just cause they look "different" and they can flat out shoot.

Does it just come in Varmint calibers, or do they offer big game calibers in that design.  Very Cool Looking weapon.

I bought mine last year and have not scoped it yet.  I bought it in .308 for blacktail hunting because it is a short rifle.  Thinking the Leupold VX-7 2.5-10x45.  I do use a 12 ga with a hastings rifled barrel topped with a Pentax 2.5 lightseeker II for blacktail but there are times we have shots over 150 yards and want a little more accuracy/distance.  What cal do you guys have?   Im guessing you have a 204 wastick.

Mine is a .223. It shoots the 50 grain v-max moly from Black Hills pretty damn good.

Anyone know what cabelas is asking for the 308 VTR? Been thinking about getting it soon. But would rather not have the break.

How far was that 3 shot group Wastick? Sniper central wasent to impressed with the accuracy of these. But when are they? Lol

I'm not sure Bob, but I have to run there tonight to grab some ammo, so I will take a look for ya.

Great post! I'm excited to get some info.

I been looking into getting one for a couple of weeks.  I went and handled one at White Elephant. I really liked it.  I'm going to pick one up in 22-250. Nice to see that some guys are using it.

Do you guys think these rifles are more accurate than a Tikka?

I want the rifle for a west side Blackie gun primarily. But with a really good scope Im thinking I can use it on the other side as well if the chance happens to come about. ;)

Was thinking a 7600 but it limits my usage then. Not a great 3 to 500 yarder.

Want something short, lite and chambered in 308.
