First Pulled Pork
« on: February 20, 2016, 06:40:08 PM »
Did my first butt in the smoker. Took about 9 hrs.  Apple cider brine recipe with hickory smoke.  Pulled apart like a dream.

Wow.....   suddenly the Campbell's soup I just put on the stove doesn't seem so appealing.

I really liked it for a first shot.  I had a variety of spicy bbq sauces I heated up to choose from.  Looking forward to trying again.  The picnic cut was super cheap at cash and carry.  Like a buck something a pound.

I have an easy recipe for pulled pork bbq sauce. Not a typical sweet bbq sauce so on other meats may not be the best but for pulled pork I found it is great.
1 cup ketchup
1 cup apple cider vinegar
3 tablespoons brown sugar
1 tablespoon molasses
1 tablespoon mustard
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp red pepper flakes
