:brew: Combined with the $150k from the sheep auction, WDFW can really get that Fisher reintroduction moving along now.

I'm not positive but I think this says the money can only be used to manage "game" species.

Why would a person pay 34K when you can go to BC and hunts Goats for under 10K. Some of them are with horses.

It's like why would you hunt blacktail when you count hunt muleys, or why would you fly from SeaTac to Alaska to catch salmon when you could catch them here, or why would you buy a $2 bottle of water when you could fill an empty bottle for $.001 from your sink, or ...........etc.
Everybody has their own agenda. :twocents:

If it was only about the cost, it probably would have sold a lot cheaper than it did.  The buyer made a great donation to a wildlife org doing a lot for conservation in our area. That's really all that should matter.

To know for sure, you would need to ask the hunter. I suspect it’s a combination of understanding that the funds are going towards conservation of a specie he obviously values, the opportunity to hunt mountain goats in a state that has extremely little competition for them, and a bit of pride in simply knowing he can.
