Pup Work
« on: February 21, 2016, 02:01:52 PM »
Hey all. Been browsing the site for sometime, and decided to go ahead an register.

Got a 4 month old pup (first dog I ever paid for, black Lab) and am looking to find some other folks with hunting retrievers to go out with during the off season, do some training etc. Would love for this pup to be around some other hunting dogs.

I currently live in Port Angeles. My pup has some basic obedience, and has been great at retrieving the dummy, and water retrieves.

Thanks

Welcome to the site!  I'm always willing to say howdy to another lab guy, unfortunately I can't help with your question.  Hopefully one of the retriever guys will have an answer.
Hunt hard and shoot straight!

Thanks Old Dog. My second lab. This one we call Poncho. Got him at 7 weeks. Hoping to find some other people in my area to get together with, let the dogs have a good time.

I should work on getting some live birds for him also

Puget sound retriever club. A little south of you but better than coming over to the Seattle side. They have a training day once a month.

I've got a 2 year old lab I hunt waterfowl, and upland with. I'm game to get together. It's always fun to work dogs. My dog is not perfect, but hunts pretty good.

I'm in Puyallup/Spanaway area, but my wife's family lives up on the Peninsula, so I head that way often.

A good book to use is Speed training your own retriever. Also talk to Lisa at city light. She is a meter relay tec. Her dogs are Champs in Dock dogs.
