Dominant males move through out their territory.

Have to disagree, Alpha male and female will always be together as long as she is in heat.
That old dog coyote will not let his lil lady go anywhere without him.
Now once she is not in heat any longer he will not stray very far away from her.
This time of year its very common to call in pairs, If you are in the CORE  area of a alpha pair they will most often come together, usually the female in the lead.
Alpha Coyotes will have a
(home range, Core area) area that they patrol and defend with great gusto.
Using Vocals is a great way to bring a pair into gun range as they will come to run intruders from that Core area, You just need to learn how to make them defend that area.
The size of said core area depends on a few different factors such as coyote density,Food availability,And cover.

I called in and dispatched a large male coyote this morning, he came in growling at the coyote vocals I was using.
