Wintering Whitetails
« on: February 22, 2016, 08:15:54 PM »
Hunted some Whitetails last season at about 5500 ft elevation... I know the area gets hammered pretty hard with snow during the winter months.. from what I understand whitetail don't migrate like mule deer....   Is it possible they're wintering that high up or are they migrating down towards snow line along with everything else??  Any info and input is appreciated!

They move down when the snow starts to hinder them.

Don't be surprised if the whitetails stay up in the higher elevations down in the Blues. Those deer down there are more manly than the cascades deer. Mule deer too.
