How does badlands packs fit into this discussion? Never owned one, are they a lesser product?

Yes, but some of the models are good for the money.  Their warranty is literally the best in the business too.  I have hauled a bloddy lot of elk in my 2200

That warranty does you no good when you're 6 miles from the truck with a 100# load and a broken pack. Don't get me wrong, I insist on a good warranty, I just don't ever want to use it.

load lifters are kinda funky in this pic .  heh   Really like my kuiu.  Hauled a couple moose, deer, and elk with it without a problem.  If packing a camp on my back kifaru is a no-brainer but for a day pack kuiu is great.

Yup, loosen the lifters and tighten shoulder straps!

This is true.  Thankfully I never had an issue with my Badlands.  Was really nostalgic about selling that thing

  If I remember correctly this was a post "just got my pack back" selfie.  Pretty sure she just took it out of the box and threw it on to take the pic.  I'm betting she knows how to adjust a pack.  Of course she does openly embrace kuiu packs so it leaves people to wonder

You'd be right. Straight out of the box in that photo.

If you had narrow shoulders like me you'd appreciate the Kuiu packs too. I don't have to hold the shoulder straps in on heavy loads like all other packs I've tried. That being said, Kifaru and I are only familiar when it comes to tents.

You'd be right. Straight out of the box in that photo.

If you had narrow shoulders like me you'd appreciate the Kuiu packs too. I don't have to hold the shoulder straps in on heavy loads like all other packs I've tried. That being said, Kifaru and I are only familiar when it comes to tents.

  Tents are great, packs are even better!  Come towards the light!  All the cool kids are doing it

Well for someone who is in the market for a new pack this thread has been wonderful. I was already leaning toward kifaru but at close to $800 for a frame and bag needed more convincing. I will have to get in touch with corey at XXX and see what he can do fitment wise. I hear Aron at kifaru is pretty helpful too and good about responding.  Really like that multicam camo too.

its tough not getting the kifaru but I have 1,000 to spend and I also want a new rino 650, it's 400.  So I can get a Stone Glacier or kuiu AND get my gps.  Im not needing the best pack for what I do, but the SG or kuiu will do just fine and a bit cheaper.

Go over to the Rokslide website and check out the classifieds, there are some good buys on Kifaru packs over there, might find just what you're looking for at a price that is a little more to your liking.
