Fila Brasiliero aka Brazilian Mastiff. Anybody?

So we bought this dog.  He is now 5+ months old.  84lbs.  What a an interesting guy.  Do some research on these.  He is not the average dog.  The most loving loyal cuddly guy.  He is an Alpha dog from 7 weeks old.  Loves to please, fetch and guard.  Vigilant breed.  fearless.  Our toddler plucks his whiskers and plays with his teeth, he don't care.  Pretty mellow for a pup,  The bloodhound in him is very clear.  10 cups of food a day is crazy.  Strangers or aggression he does not like.  He doesn't like anyone near his family truck/car etc.  Very vocal dog.  These are rare dogs however one of the best breeders (our dog lineage) is Eshabeta Kennels Arlington Wa.  It would be cool if someone has one of these guys and share their experiences.  Amazing dogs.  I understand why they are Brasils national dog.

My brothers mastiff liked to drop a deuce by the drivers car door at night when you were over visiting. Cool dog but you needed a backhoe to clean up after that pig. At least he could train his lab to go off in the brush but that big guy would dropp it in the middle of the driveway!

Ya he is just now transitioning from only pooping on the concrete.  3 big piles a day. He has been great with the training aside from bedtime I must go out with him so we can both water the grass.   He is one of those dogs that is right next to you most the time so he is a large tripping hazard!  I was thinking could a guy train your dog to track elk for scouting (sheds?) purposes before hunt season?  Not sure if its legal.  Either way I will take him hiking and I don't think I have to worry about his safety.  Jaguar hunter after all.  My neighbor was robbed in broad daylight and 7 last year in these parts so I decided I needed a thief eater to protect wife kids, and property if Im not home. Has anyone googled this breed?  Its quite unique.  If I lived eastern maybe a few of these could be taught to dislike wolves!!

I am familiar with the breed because I have an interest in dogs and when I was showing and working on farms I ran into lots of neat breeds.

Estate guardians, mastiffs, and molossers tend to protect an estate/neighborhood/township so driveway marking isn't even a tiny surprise to me.  The dogpile next to visitors autos seems territorial to me and not out of line at all. Dogs will be dogs.

If I had a mastiff or molosser I would go the Dogge de Bordeaux (french mastiff) route.

Neat looking dog. But a friend had to recently put his down after it chewed up the mail lady pretty bad. Very protective, aggressive and an extremely un-predictable breed IMO.

Is most definitely a good looking pup.  There are many Mastiff breeds, and all seem pretty cool from what I have seen.  I had a Bullmastiff, and he was the most kind, gentle, loving beast one could hope for.  One day I will have another.

Mudman, if you don't mind me asking, how much did that breeder charge? I would love to get one of these dogs someday, as I am often away for work and would rest better if I knew my wife had one at her feet.

I have always been fond of the dogo argentino. A close friend of mine owned a cane corso. Probably one of my least favorite dogs I have met. Despite everything she did, that dog would not submit, ever. Couldnt trust it. Super aggressive too.
