Electronic predator call help

I put out a few trail cameras last month and got around to checking them. A few deer but a ton of coyotes that were not there last year. I figured it was best to get rid of a few before the fawns start dropping.

I see that a lot of members are using electronic game calls to lure them in. What models are people having luck with on the West side? Trying to stay around $150-200 if possible. Open to any suggestions. Thanks.

For $150-200 bucks I'd stick with good mouth calls.  I've yet to see a cheaper predator call worth packing out in the woods.

I bought a Fox Pro Wildfire 2 and have had great luck with it.  You can get them on sale around $120 give or take then load up sounds off of their website.  I'm finding that the bird sounds are doing much better than the rabbit here on the wetside.  I think they are tired of hearing the same old sounds.

I was afraid of that. Im seeing some pretty mixed reviews in that range but was hoping at least one would stand out. What would you recommend as an "entry" unit? I'm on the wet side so electronics and water may be an issue.

That seemed to be the only unit getting decent reviews in that price range. If you have a link to where they can be found for that price can share a link? Thanks for the heads up and info on calls!

Cabela's has them on sale for that price every now and then.  That is where I got mine.  I actually paid about $70 for mine after coupon and them mis marking the price in the store.  I know a few guys that hunt with them that really like em'.  The higher end models might have a bunch more features and sound capacity but most guys really don't need several hundred sounds. They are normally $199 and Cabela's has them right now for $149

FoxPro inferno. Awsome remote 75 sounds. Nutty nut hatch, Titmouse tantrum and vole squeaks killer.  Coyote Vocals mixed in. Don't over do it.

I purchased the FoxPro inferno and couldn't be happier.  picked up at basspro for under 200.  Besides the pre installed sounds you can go to FoxPro website and add more.

I have been using an Icotec 350 paired with a Foxpro decoy and it has worked great. Broke the remote a month after the warranty expired and e-mailed them. They sent me a new one in 3 days, no questions asked. The Icotec was about $125.

I wanted to become proficient with hand calls first as a coyote hunter, three years later I feel like I have reached that goal. This year I decided to add an e-call to improve my odds/hunting. Picked up entry level FoxPro and Primos, with sale prices I got the pair for 150 bucks. At first I felt like a new hunter with the e-calls, like starting over. Two months into things now I have called in and killed coyotes with them. I like being able to use hand and electronic. The e-calls sure free you up to observe more. And it gets the coyotes looking in another direction than me.  I agree with the experts on this site, less is better with the calls. I will be buying a higher end unit at some point. Want the better remote, backlight for low light situations, better volume control, pre-sets. Range and call quality is good on my FoxPro Deadbone.

thanks for all the tips. Went with a Foxpro Wildfire as that was the first unit that I got a deal on from a member over on Rokslide. He was nice enough to toss in a rabbit decoy as well. Looking forward to giving it a rip in a couple weeks.

 like mentioned earlier the wildfire 2 is an awesome call.  Inferno even better. Both under $200.  I started with wildfire and there was no real reason to upgrade but I got bored not the coyotes.  Mouth calling is way more gratifying but ecallers take a lot of work out of it especially for learning to call.  Best way to get confidence starting out is from a ecall.  Then you can add in some calling of your own while the machine runs.
