On to hog hunting

FINALLY, I moved my bait site a week ago and they finally hit it last night.  They were on the bait from 0330 to 0615 and the four hogs cleaned up 50 pounds of bait last night.

Sadly it will be several days before I get a chance to hunt them.  I'm heading to Florida tomorrow for 5 days.  So it will be all the way until next Friday before I finally get a chance to hunt them.  I made a couple of pig sticks, so hopefully that will keep enough bait in the area until I get back and rebait next Tuesday.

I think they are on par with a cagy whitetail.  Yes dry corn.

It's KILLING me, I have a wireless camera and right now there are hogs on my bait.

Some things I've seen in the past to slow them down when eating:
dig a hole with a post hole digger and pour some corn, then add a rock/brick/cinderblock, then add more corn, then rock/brick...etc.  They have to dig a little, then they have to get the rock moved out of the way, then dig some more.
The other thing was making sour mash.  Then you can spray it on trees and grass, they'll smell it and keep searching even when the kernels are all eaten up.
Those might be a little too much effort, plus the fun of explaining why you are making sour mash out in the woods.

I did dig three holes with a post hole digger, so they are having to work for it.  I think the pig stick is really going to help, 4 inch PVC pipe with a few half inch holes drilled in.  It's on a short chain staked to the ground, so they can roll it around and slowly eat the corn.
